The Fall Annual Event, "THE FIRST ANNUAL ATLANTA POLO CLASSIC," will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Chukkar Farms and the Scuppernong Polo Club in Alpharetta, Georgia. Polo, the sport of kings, has long been associated with raising dollars for children. Horse races, horse shows, and various other events involving horses have been used over the years to raise money for charity.
We will spend an afternoon watching two teams of men mounted on horseback move a ball downfield to score through the opposing team's goal posts during periods of play known as "chukkers" - and raise dollars for children at the same time!
We will wager on the top scoring team, the top scoring player, the fastest pony and more... Reminiscent of Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman" we will "stomp the divots" at half time and we will eat, drink and make merry as the sun shines on the autumn leaves. Guests wil be treated to an "elegant picnic box luncheon," cocktails and wine under the roof of the Polo Pavilion and in the Circle Tent.
We will have a Silent Art Sale featuring local artists, wine tastings featuring Georgia Wineries, and other merchandise created specifically for the Event. The attire is garden chic/casual and tickets are available for $115 per person. You can purchase tickets on our PAYMENTS page of this site.
